Youth Advisory Council
The Youth Advisory Council (YAC) is a committee comprised of youth ages 8-18 and college-age students who are committed to creating positive change in Greensboro, NC and Guilford County. The mission of the YAC is to empower, improve, enhance, and connect the lives of youth that reside in Greensboro, NC and/or Guilford County. The YAC serves as a direct link between youth, Unifour One staff and members of the community.
The Youth Advisory Council serves as a direct link between youth and the community.
Platform
We provide a platform for youth to present their ideas and suggestions for creating positive change in the community.
Liason
We serve as a liaison between youth in the community, Unifour One Staff and the community.
Service
We provide community service projects that will benefit the community and build confidence.
Life Skills Program
Our Life Skills program increases public safety and reduces the youth recidivism rate.
The goal of Changing Faces Life Skills for youth ages 13 and up is to increase public safety and reduce the youth recidivism rate through the development, implementation and evaluation of the life skills program.
This program was established to implement the following:
- Provide Cognitive Behavior Intervention Group Mediation.
- Provide tutoring assistance with school work as well as vocational education.
- Provide “Money Smart” training for youth that will assist them with real life situations.
- Increase personal and social competencies through the integration of life skills with vocational and risk-reduction programs.
- Provide Anger Management to avoid counterproductive behavior.
- Establish Conflict Resolution practices.
The Changing Faces Mentoring Project program targets youth ages 6 -18 who are at risk of delinquency or have been adjudicated undisciplined or delinquent. The program serves youth that have been referred by parents, teachers, faith-based organizations or the Juvenile Justice Court System. Youth are paired with mentors who offer guidance, support and encouragement aimed at developing the competence and character of the mentee.

The Changing Faces Youth Vocational program equips deprived and at-risk youth with vocational training and work opportunities to deter future delinquency and involvement with the justice system.
